Newfoundland and Labrador has a fascinating cultural history dating back over 7500 years beginning with the Maritime Archaic Indians, followed by Dorset and Paleo Eskimos, Beothuck Indians and Norse to present day settlers of predominantly Innu, Inuit, English, Irish, Mikmag and French origin.
The resources of the sea attracted these cultures here and they harvested whales, seals, fish and seabirds. Newfoundland and Labradors seafaring tradition is still very much alive. Choose from a variety of vacation packages and explore Newfoundland and Labradors culture and history.
